The FVGS holds 9 monthly general meetings on the 2nd Thursday, September through June (except December) at 7:30 PM in the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 South Eagle, Naperville, Illinois. See Programs and Meetings for details.
The next monthly meeting is Thursday, January 12 at 7:30 PM. This will be a member/guest "Show and Tell". You are encouraged to bring something from your genealogical research or your famiy and briefly tell everyone about it. These have proved to be both interesting and entertaining in past years.
Try-It! Illinois offers the opportunity for Illinois library users to survey and evaluate a wide variety of electronic resources. Many of these resources may have genealogical information. There is no charge for accessing these databases, but free access is only available from October 1 to November 30. Just go to http://www.finditillinois.org/tryit , fill out the simple form to get a password, and start searching!
Check out our Mike's Index. We've added our latest new entries in October, 2015, bringing our total to almost 55,000.
Also check out our Local Names Index. We've added another 6500 names from Naperville newspapers dating from 1850 to 1943. That brings our total to over 46,000 names of people who lived in Dupage, Kane, and Kendall counties that can be found in local cemeteries, church records, newspapers, and historical documents.
